RAW CATERING OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED in late January with a party that celebrated the innovation and excitement we bring to Toronto’s dining scene. RAW isn’t your typical catering company, since the luxurious seafood is just half of what we offer. It’s our sustainably sourced delicacies served by sexy and charismatic hosts that make us an engaging and unforgettable experience. An experience we shared exclusively with our friends and industry professionals.
We hosted our party at Lavelle, a breathtakingly beautiful rooftop bar in downtown Toronto that serves modern French cuisine by Chef Romain Avril. The perfect pairing for our premium oysters, and for our new addition of caviar. Our guests got an exclusive first taste of our Canadian sturgeon caviar accompanied by vodka to cleanse the palate.
Drink tickets in the fashion of silver glazed oyster shells and a photo booth decked out with sea inspired friends showcased how we excel at playful and sophisticated evenings. The launch of RAW included a chance for us to also showcase our attire. Our male hosts, dapper and daring, wear black turtlenecks and dress pants in our favourite shade of midnight blue. And our female hosts can’t help but turn heads in a mid-length black long sleeved dress with a plunging back. We most definitely don’t look like a typical catering company. If it weren’t for our belts elegantly equipped to serve, and the large crowd of guests snapping pictures of us, you’d think we were another guest.
Our very own RAW host Watu DJ’d the entire event with a mix of classic and modern favourites, to accompany the lively chatter that filled the event space. To fuel the fire of creativity, we had two of our hosts, Olivia and Yoshi help guests create their dream oyster at a “Choose your own Adventure Oyster Bar”. Already shucked oysters sat atop shaved ice, as the girls made conversation and shucked effortlessly without having to break eye contact for a second. This was our first time creating an oyster bar, and it was most definitely a success. Dozens of clear bowls were filled with herbs, fruits and sauces just begging to be experimented with. Our suggested ingredient pairing of ponzu, salmon roe and ginger was the hit of the night.
